The event took place on Sunday, October 5, at La Rada Beach, with the participation of numerous fishing enthusiasts.

The Estepona City Council reports that the beach of La Rada was the scene last Sunday of the IV Open Sea-Coast 'Playas de Estepona' sport fishing.

The event, organized by the Club Amigos de la Pesca 'Playas de Estepona', in collaboration with the Consistory, was born with the aim of promoting the sport of angling from the shore, called 'surfcasting', while serving as a reference for future competitions at provincial, regional and national levels.

The test brought together a varied participation, from anglers who debuted and fishermen of the stature of national and world champions. The bases of the contest were those of the Andalusian Federation of Sport Fishing and the Spanish Federation of Fishing and Casting.

The councilman attached to the delegation of Sports, Luis Gil, has highlighted the attractiveness of this test for fans of the art of fishing. It has also valued the charitable nature of this activity whose participants collaborated with the delivery of 2 kilos of non-perishable food, which will go to Caritas.

According to the program, after the end of the competition was carried out the collection of catches, which were transferred to the Municipal House of the fairgrounds, where they proceeded to weighing.

The trophy presentation took place in a lively manner, and very well climate among the participants. The first classified, Miguel Prieto Bermúdez (Miguelito), won a trophy and 1,000 euros; and the second, Olesky Kravecko, a trophy and 500 euros.

At the end of the awards and gifts, proceeded to the draw for a kayak among all participants, courtesy of the establishment Nautical and Drugstore Ramirez, resulting graced the second winner, Olesky Kravecko. The fisherman Antonio Sanchez won the prize for the largest piece, by catching three good-sized bream, and the 'Lady Award' of 100 euros, was for Gemma García Cortés.
