Open the deadline for the election of Queens and Ladies of the Fair of Cancelada
Those interested in representing Cancelada in this event, to be held from August 20 to 23, may submit their applications from May 6 to 29.
The City Council of Estepona reports that tomorrow, August 6, opens the deadline for the election of Queens and Ladies of the Fair of Cancelada, to be held from 20 to 23 August. Those interested may register until May 29.
The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortiz, has indicated that participants must be registered in Estepona and provide a photocopy of the ID in the case of girls of legal age who participate in the youth category. Relatives of minors must provide a copy of the Family Book, if they do not have an identity document, as well as a contact telephone number.
The applications of the under-age applicants must be accompanied by the authorizations of the parents or legal guardians and signed by both parents.
There are two categories: Children, in which girls from 6 to 12 years old (born in 2014 until 2020) and Youth, for young people from 16 to 21 years old (born in 2005 until 2010) can participate. Those who have been elected queens in previous years, in the same category in which they wish to compete, will not be able to participate in this contest.
The aspiring children will be chosen by lot, as explained by the municipal responsible.
The election of the procession of Cancelada will take place on June 12, at 21.00 pm, in Montemayor Street. The procession will consist of a Queen and three ladies in each of the categories.
Participation involves attending rehearsals and events related to this contest. Once selected, they will sign a commitment to participate.
The queens and ladies chosen will also be the queens and ladies of the San Isidro festivities in Cancelada, which will be held on May 1, 2027.
The child and youth queens will finish their reigns the following year with the coronation of the queens and ladies of the Fair and Festivities of Cancelada 2027.
Participation will involve the acceptance of the realization of photographs / television images and broadcasting of the same that such acts entail within the programs of the Fair of Cancelada and the Pilgrimage of San Isidro 2027.
