Pediatrician Abby Murgio will present her book *Cuidar sin fronteras* tomorrow at Las Tejerinas

The event will take place on Friday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m.; admission is free until capacity is reached.

A pediatrician and recipient of the University Medal of Honor, he is a collaborator of Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini and was named the top pediatric specialist for 2025–26 by the European Academy of Pediatrics

The Estepona City Council announces that the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall at the Casa de Las Tejerinas will host the presentation of the book *Cuidar sin fronteras* (*Caring Without Borders*) by renowned pediatrician Abby Murgio tomorrow, Friday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m.

As the author himself has stated, “*Cuidar sin fronteras* is a human journey through childhood, accompanying boys and girls in hospitals, through night shifts, and through so many shared moments of silence. It is a book that brings together real stories showing that caring goes far beyond healing.” 

Dr. Abby Murgio has an outstanding professional career, and his work is of great cultural interest; therefore, we believe this event can add value to the municipality’s cultural offerings.

This well-known pediatrician currently works at Vithas Xanit Estepona Hospital. He has forty-three years of experience, has been awarded the University Medal of Honor, collaborated with Nobel Prize in Medicine laureate Rita Levi Montalcini, and was recently named Best Pediatric Specialist for 2025–2226 by the European Academy of Paediatrics. He studied in Padua, specializing in Pediatrics and Related Fields.

He has published articles in several international journals and has coordinated research projects in the field of pediatrics involving eighteen countries worldwide; he also worked directly with Nobel Prize in Medicine laureate Rita Levi Montalcini for four years. He participated in the Rotary Foundation’s Polio 0 (Zero) Project in Uttar Pradesh (India) for six months and provided relief efforts following the earthquakes in Manila (Philippines) in 1990 and in Kenya (Africa) in 1992.
