The Mayor, José María García Urbano, has received today the composer Josema García Hormigo, recent winner of the First Prize and Gold Medal at the prestigious International Rachmaninoff Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors.
García Hormigo prevailed over the fifteen participants from all over the world competing in the competition, consolidating a brilliant career full of awards. His work ‘Synapsis Piano Concerto’ was also premiered in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory for the closing gala of this competition.
García Urbano congratulated the composer for his brilliant professional career and wished him every success in his career.
With an extensive musical training, despite his youth, Josema García has received important commissions, such as those of the Vancouver Chamber Choir or an opera for the Fundación Goya, among others.
