The Casa de Las Tejerinas will host a new exhibition of contemporary art by artists of the Cuban generation of the 80s in Cuba, a tribute to the renowned artist Aldo Menéndez.

The exhibition 'More was lost in Cuba, Homage to Aldo Menéndez' can be visited from September 5 to 18, with free access.
The Estepona Town Hall informs that the central courtyard of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from September 5 a new exhibition of contemporary art by artists of the generation of the 80s in Cuba. These artists belong to a group that left Cuba in the 90s, and reside, for the most part, in the U.S., Spain and Mexico, and has, among its objectives, to stimulate cultural exchange between Estepona and other communities that share an interest in the arts.
The exhibition is titled 'Más Se Perdió en Cuba-Homage to Aldo Menendez', and, like the first exhibition last March, is from the collection of Jorge Rynardus. Considered a pioneer in the world of Hispanic advertising, he holds a prominent place among collectors of Cuban art and is a founder of The Cuban Art Alliance. The double meaning of the title reflects, on the one hand, the immigration of Andalusians to Cuba and, on the other, the artists that Cuba lost in the diaspora of the 1990s.
Aldo Menéndez, the honoree, is a renowned Cuban artist who lived for many years in Spain and died in Miami in 2020. Menendez directed the Porto Carrero Workshop in Cuba, where these creatives learned the art of printing, and is recognized as a multifaceted creator; painter, graphic designer, silkscreen expert, art critic, curator of exhibitions, author of several monographs and editor of the book 'Artists in Purgatory'. In 1987, the Ministry of Culture in Cuba awarded him the prize of the National Order of Cuban Culture.
On this occasion, the art exhibition includes works by artists Rubén Mendoza, Julio Antonio, Francisco Guiller, Fernando García, Miguel Loredo, María Magdalena Campos Pons, Pedro Vizcaíno, Mario Algaze, Sandra Ramos, Aldito Menéndez (son of Aldo), Rubén Torres Llorca, Agustín Fernández, Alejandro Aguilera, Aldo Menéndez, Ángel Vapor, Antonia Eiriz, Francisco Bernal, Juan Vicente Bonachea, Carlos Estévez, Consuelo Castañeda, Carlos R. Cárdenas, Eduardo Muñoz Ordoquiz, Guido Llinas, Luis Cruz Azaceta, Sergio Payares, Alfredo Sosa Bravo and Willie Castellanos.
The exhibition can be visited until September 18, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 to 20:00 hours, and Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 hours, with free access.
