The City Council announces a photography contest for the cover of the Cancelada fair program.

Proposals may be submitted from tomorrow, May 6, through May 29.

The City Council of Estepona has announced the III Photography Contest ‘Cover program Cancelada Fair 2026’.

The deputy mayor of the Extraradio area, Begoña Ortíz, explained that participants in this contest may submit photographs depicting a moment lived, a memory, or a manifesto of joy and fun at the fair in Cancelada.

The deadline for submission of photographs will remain open from May 6 to 29. The proposals will be on display in the multipurpose room of the mayor’s office of Cancelada.

There will be a single prize of 150 euros for the winning photograph, which will be the cover of the program of this year’s fair. In addition, Frutas Infantes will give the winner a fruit basket valued at 100 euros.

The bases for participation are as follows:

1. The contest is open to any person, professional or amateur photographer.

2. Each participant must submit two copies of a single original and unpublished photograph, one in color and one in black and white, and a JPEG file.

3. The theme will be ‘Feria de Cancelada 2026’.

4. The style and technique will be free.

5. The size of the photographs will be A4.

6. The deadline for submission of works will remain open from May 6 to 29.

7. The delivery will be made in the mayor’s office, located in Montemayor Street, 54. Telephone 952 88 37 85.

8. It must be presented in an envelope with the following information on the outside:

-Photography Contest ‘Cover Fair program of the Barriada de Cancelada 2026, and a pseudonym of the author. Inside the envelope must include a copy of ID card, current address and contact telephone number.

9. The jury will select the works to be exhibited to the public in the multipurpose room of the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada until the jury’s decision.

10. A competent jury appointed by the City Council will choose the winning photograph, whose decision will be final, and the prize may not be awarded.

The jury’s decision will be made on June 12, at the ceremony of election of Queens and Ladies of the Fair of Cancelada 2026.

11. The City Council will award a single prize of 150 euros, plus a fruit basket offered by Frutas Infantes and valued at 100 euros.

12. Regarding the winning work, the Consistory will have all economic rights of intellectual property inherent in such creation, as well as use, reproduction, transformation and dissemination, without limitation of time, becoming part of the Municipal Artistic Heritage.

13. Participation in this call implies acceptance of these rules that can be consulted on the web www.estepona.es and on the notice board of the Tenencia de Cancelada.
