The City Council collaborates one more year for children at risk of exclusion to participate in the Football Campus ‘Adolfo Aldana’.

This initiative provides scholarships to children from different municipalities of the Costa de Sol who are at risk of social exclusion in order to achieve their integration.
Estepona City Council reports that one more year will collaborate with the Football Campus ‘Adolfo Aldana’, which will begin to be held from June 30. The councilors attached to the delegations of Social Services and Social Integration and Sports, Maria Aguilar and Luis Gil, respectively, who attended the twenty-second edition of this campus, have highlighted the social nature of this activity that has as one of its main objectives to achieve integration through sport for children at risk of social exclusion.
The councilors have explained that through the collaboration established with the La Caixa Foundation, the Consistory has 5 scholarships that will benefit as many boys and girls aged between 5 and 16 years, who are at risk of social exclusion. These are free places for students selected by the municipal area of Social Services based on the positive evolution they have shown throughout the school year. These places are subsidized by the La Caixa Foundation and are a reward for effort and good work.
Participants will travel daily by bus to enjoy a week of an intensive course. The objective of this campus in addition to the specifics of this sport focused on improving the technique, are education in values through teamwork, sportsmanship, fellowship and awareness of the importance of conservation and respect for the environment.
The councilors wanted to highlight the important solidarity work carried out by both the Football Campus ‘Adolfo Aldana’, as Obra Social ‘La Caixa’ in favor of inclusive sport and the promotion of education in values through soccer. In addition, they have shown their gratitude “for offering this opportunity to children who could not afford this experience by their own means. A gift that will serve as a stimulus and incentive for them to improve themselves and will have a positive impact on their education”.
