The City Council completes the repair and stabilization works of a stretch of coastal corridor in Playa Bella

The works consisted in the repair of 35 meters of wall, with the installation of micropiles and backfill, in addition to the extension of the existing access stairway.

The Estepona City Council informs that the works carried out for the repair and stabilization of part of the existing retaining wall in the area of Playa Bella, affected by the damage caused by the sea storms, have been completed. Specifically, work has been carried out on the coastal corridor that connects La Chimenea with Playa Bella.

The works have consisted of the repair and reinforcement of 35 meters of wall, for which it has been necessary to fill and build concrete micropiles. Likewise, the action – which has had an investment of 129,175 euros – has also included the repair of the access stairs to the urbanization of this area, which had also been affected and had cracks caused by the various storms.

This stretch of coastal corridor was carried out in 2015, has a wooden walkway 325 meters long and has 320 meters. During its execution, a concrete retaining wall was built due to the clearing work that had to be carried out. The passing of the years and the effects of sea storms have been causing damages that, although they were repaired in a previous intervention, now they have needed a reinforcement action due to the harsh effects of the waves.
