The City Council organizes chess games on the boards of the Paseo Marítimo all summer long.

The free activity ‘Chess for All’ will be open to the general public and will be held until August 29th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
The Estepona City Council informs that the Municipal Sports Chess School has started in July the rapid chess games and giant games on the large format boards of the Paseo Marítimo. As in previous years, the activity ‘Chess for All’ is free and open to all the public who wish it, and will be held until August 29th from 19.00 to 22.00 hours.
This activity is part of the Chess Promotion Plan launched by the City Council of Estepona in 2011 and has allowed, as a pioneering educational experience, that all children born from 2004 have received training to learn to play chess, a game that offers important intellectual benefits to those who practice it.
The next summer appointment with chess will take place on Tuesday, July 8th, with the celebration of the II Memorial ‘Juan Miguel Abril Rodríguez’, and will continue on August 21st with the celebration of the XXXIX Nocturno de Ajedrez ‘Ciudad de Estepona’, both in the Paseo Marítimo.
On the other hand, the Municipal Sports Chess School will give chess classes during the months of July and August for the groups U8-10, and U12-14-16, from 12.00 to 13.00 hours, at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center and at the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada.
