The City Council will celebrate the II Paella Contest on May 31st.

Portions can be tasted at a price of 5 euros per portion, starting at 2:00 pm.
The City Council of Estepona informs that on Sunday May 31 will be held in the Municipal Park El Calvario the II Paella Contest.
The contest is organized by the City Council and aims to promote the gastronomic culture of the town and the tradition of rice dishes, allowing citizens to enjoy this gastronomic modality at affordable prices. At the same time, this initiative aims to raise awareness and value the quality of local products.
All the necessary material for the preparation of the paellas, such as paella pan, gas donut, etc …, will be paid by the contestants, as well as the ingredients to be used for cooking, except for oil and vegetables, which will be provided to each participant by the organization: 1 liter of oil and the necessary vegetables, with the collaboration of Frutas y Verduras Acosta, and the Andalusian Cooperative Society ‘Aceites de Sierra de Yeguas’.
Registered participants may prepare any type of paella in all its varieties and presentations, with a minimum of 50 servings, which may be tasted by the public at the price of 5 euros per serving, from 14:00 hours. The bar will be managed by the Real y Antigua Hermandad del Santísimo Cristo de la Veracruz (Royal and Ancient Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of the Veracruz). l
The time of arrival at El Calvario Park for the assignment of numbers and location to each participant, in order of registration, will be from 12:00 hours. The jury will be made up of renowned professionals from the restaurant industry.
Participants will be eligible for the following prizes, which will be awarded on the same day of the contest:
1st Prize: 1,000 euros
2nd Prize: 500 euros
3rd Prize: 250 euros
Other participants: runners-up prizes of 100 euros.
