The City Council will train 75 unemployed youths in sectors with high labor demand

The Consistory has tendered a service to provide training in the following specialties: Basic restaurant and bar operations, Restaurant services, Bar and cafeteria services, Socio-sanitary care for dependent people in social institutions and Health transport.

The City Council of Estepona informs that it will promote a project to train unemployed young people in the city in sectors with high labor demand. Thus, it has just approved the tender for the service of providing training itineraries of youth entrepreneurship included in the project ‘Estepona Emplea’, an initiative aimed at improving the professional qualifications and job placement opportunities for young people under 30 who are not currently working or studying or training.

The contract has a base bidding budget of 99,375 euros and will allow the development of five specialized training itineraries that will benefit a total of 75 participants, distributed in groups of up to 15 students. The program is financed by the INCYDE Foundation under the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) 2021-2027.

The action contemplates the provision of training linked to sectors with high demand for employment in the municipality, such as the hotel and catering industry and the socio-sanitary field. Specifically, the training itineraries will be related to the specialties of Basic restaurant and bar operations, Restaurant services, Bar and cafeteria services, Social and health care for dependent people in social institutions and Health transport.

Each participant will receive up to 200 hours of training, combining specialized classroom teaching and tutored online training. The classroom part will be oriented to the acquisition of specific professional skills for the performance of jobs in the selected sectors, while the online training will reinforce key aspects for employability, such as digital skills, active job search, job interview preparation, personal and social skills, as well as entrepreneurship and self-employment.

The program will also include an individualized monitoring of the students through tutoring and support actions, with the aim of promoting the use of the training and improving the possibilities of incorporation into the labor market. The different training actions foreseen in the project will be implemented during 2026.

With this action, the Estepona City Council continues to promote initiatives aimed at promoting training and access to employment for young people in the municipality, betting on strategic sectors with demand for qualified professionals and contributing to the economic and social development of the city.
