The Estepona writer Maite Medina presents her first book of poems, ‘Lo que habita en mí’, at the Casa de Las Tejerinas.

The event will take place this Thursday, at 6:30 p.m., with free access until full capacity is reached.
Estepona City Council reports that the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas will host this Thursday, June 11, at 18.30 hours, the presentation of the poetry book ‘Lo que habita en mí’, a book of stories that inspire, full of words that leave their mark, by the local author, Maite Medina.
Published by Ediciones Sakana, in ‘Lo que habita en mí’, Maite Medina executes a purification of her verses so that the truth of her inner self is exposed.
Maite Medina was born in Malaga, and has always lived in Estepona.
Graduated in Romance Philology at the University of Granada (1985), she defended her thesis (currently Master) with a translation of “Miracles de Nôtre Dame en provençal” (translation and commentary) (1986).
She has taught Spanish as a foreign language privately. She has worked in public education in different centers in Andalusia. Since 2015 she has worked in a center in Estepona. She is currently retired.
She has collaborated in the anthology ‘Del campo, del mar y de versos’ (December 2024) and in the publication of the anthology of the Poetic Group of Estepona ‘El árbol que tuvo un sueño’ (February 2025).
She has participated in the anthologies ‘Lírica Navidad’ (Amazon. Nov-Dec 2022) and X, XI, XII Encuentro Poetas de Ahora (Cádiz, November 2023; San Fernando, 2024 and Bornos 2025). She has been awarded, together with the Estepona Poetry Group of which she has been a member since it was founded, with the prize granted by the García Fajer Foundation for its cultural and literary dissemination (Dec. 2023).
First prize in the Poetry Contest ‘Antonia Guerrero’ awarded by the Women’s Association ‘Peñas Blancas’ of Estepona, on the occasion of Women’s Day (March 8, 2026).
She has a deep love for literature. A reader of all literary genres since she was young, she writes to express her sensations, emotions, feelings, both of sadness, loneliness, joy, friendship, love.
