The new stretch of the coastal corridor between Guadalmina Baja and Casasola attracts the interest of 9 companies bidding for its execution.

The coastal corridor project is 95% completed and already connects more than 21 kilometers of coastline.
The project initiated by the Estepona Town Hall more than a decade ago to create a corridor, which allows to walk along the entire coastline of the municipality, continues to arouse the interest of companies for its implementation. The tender for the construction of one of the last sections, corresponding to the area between Guadalmina Baja and Casasola, has received a total of nine proposals.
The project at this point, which has the relevant authorizations from the various competent bodies, contemplates the construction of a paved path that will allow safe and accessible transit along the coast, contributing to the recovery and conservation of the transit easement within the maritime-terrestrial public domain. Specifically, this new section is located between the Guadalmina River and the Atalaya Park Hotel, on the beach known as Casasola.
The solution adopted for this area consists of the construction of a paved pedestrian path 673 meters long, with a constant free passage width of 3 meters. The paving will be made of printed concrete, a material that offers an aesthetic and functional solution suitable for the surrounding conditions. This pedestrian walkway will connect the projected paths on both sides of the area, improving accessibility and the integration of the coastal area.
The interested companies have submitted economic offers that represent an average drop of more than 100,000 euros with respect to the base bid price, which was set at 739,253 euros (VAT included). The contracting committee will award the works in the near future.
The Estepona coastal corridor is already with 95% of the total route completed. In parallel, the Consistory is working on the projects of the remaining sections for its completion. Specifically, the extension of the pedestrian path in the areas of Bahía Dorada, to the west, and in Atalaya, to the east. In the Isdabe Atalaya area, within section 15 of the municipal project, all the documentation has been submitted and permits are awaited. As for the Costa Natura area, the project for the construction of the coastal corridor section is in the drafting stage.
