The pianist María Icíar Serrano returns to the Padre Manuel Cultural Center with the symphonic work 'Peter and the Wolf' by the composer Prokofiev, in the form of a musical tale dedicated to children.

On Friday 29th, at 7:00 pm, with free access until full capacity is reached.
The Estepona City Council informs that the prestigious pianist María Icíar Serrano will perform next Friday, August 29, at 19:00 hours, at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, the symphonic work 'Peter and the Wolf' (Op.67) by the Russian composer Sergey Prokofiev (1891-1953), in the form of a musical tale dedicated to children.
The composition was written in 1936, and the composer adapted the music to the text, including a narrator in addition to the orchestra. Actually, he wrote it for all audiences: children and adults, so that they could all attend the concert together.
It is made up of a succession of pieces of great technical difficulty, very brilliant and expressive. Each of the pieces belongs to the genre of programmatic music, which aims to evoke ideas or extra-musical images in the mind of the listener, musically representing scenes, feelings, and characters very easy to recognize, which will be presented to the public to follow the narrative.
Written with a bold harmony, "the pieces are full of descriptive details that fill the scores with grace and charm, delighting the audience's ears, as a wink to our musical perception", says the pianist.
Program: Peter and the wolf, a musical tale (Suite for solo piano).
Characters:
1) Peter
2) Peter and the little bird
3) The walk in the meadow
4) The flight of the little bird
